Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have killed a son of a traditional ruler, Bulama Wadir, and two other Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who were taking refuge in Kautikari village of Chibok Local Government Area in Borno state, northeast Nigeria.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that Kautikari has consistently been targeted by ISWAP terrorists. In January, the village came under deadly attack by the insurgents where they abducted many locals, mostly women and children, and burnt down a church in the community.
Kautikari is located East and about 15km drive from Chibok town, predominantly occupied by Christian faithful.
This latest attack on Kautikari happened on Friday evening.
The terrorists were said to have set ablaze one of the largest churches in the community bordering Sambisa Forest.
It is understood that the quick intervention of security operatives, especially military troops saved the situation.
