Abdulmumin Jibrin, the campaign spokesperson of Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP) presidential flagbearer for the 2023 election, has quashed insinuations that his principal is fronting for Bola Tinubu, his counterpart in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Jibrin, Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, has his sight set firmly on winning the 2023 presidential election, and will never step down for anyone or work secretly for any presidential candidate.
“I have heard that rumour everywhere, but I think it is part of the political game by the opposition to de-market us,” Jibrin said in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Thursday night, monitored by this newspaper.
“Let me say authoritatively that Kwankwaso is not working for anyone.
“And we want to tell our followers to disregard such information flying around. We are not stepping down for anybody, we are in this election to win, and we are going full stretch.”
