BREAKING: Adamawa State Governor Fintiri Breaks Silence on Court Judgement on PDP Primary in Edo

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has broken his silence on the recent Abuja High Court ruling that nullified the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primary in Edo State.

Fintiri, who chairs the PDP National Campaign Council for the Edo governorship election, expressed optimism that the ruling will be overturned at the Court of Appeal.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the PDP National Campaign Council on Saturday, Fintiri termed the court’s decision a temporary setback.

He urged council members to remain committed and focused on the task ahead, adding that winning elections is the ultimate goal in politics.

He said, “The candidate has a lot of credibility with him. He is deliverable. We can make him win if we are serious.

“The governor has worked; he is visibly on ground in Edo. His track record and pedigree also is enough for us to harvest and use positively to win the election for Edo PDP in this election.”

Meanwhile, the PDP National Legal Adviser, Kamarudeen Ajibade (SAN), clarified that the court did not nullify the party’s primary, but rather addressed an issue related to delegate elections.

He assured that out of eight legal challenges faced by the party in Edo State, seven have been resolved, and the Court of Appeal has established that internal party matters like delegate selection are not subject to legal challenges.

Asue Ighodalo, the PDP governorship candidate in Edo State, acknowledged that the election may be challenging but expressed confidence in the party’s ability to overcome distractions and secure victory.
