BREAKING: Akpabio Performs First Duty as Senate President, Swear in Senators-Elect

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, swore in the senators-elect shortly after his emergence as the Senate President of the tenth Assembly.

Politics Nigeria earlier reported that Akpabio emerged victorious over Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, the former governor of Zamfara State.

Akpabio polled 63 votes while Senator Yari got 46 Votes.

Similarly, Senator Jibrin Barau emerged as the Deputy President of the tenth Senate after his nomination was the only one put forward by former governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi.

  1. There could have been rigging and manipulation of results had INEC been involved in the election of senate president.
    True Nigerians are good people, our problem are the bad ones that seize power to themselves. Nigeria will soon be restored, it’s a matter of time. The truth will soon surface.
