Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has stated that any army sent to the South-East will perish there.
Kanu, leader of the proscribed IPOB made this statement in reaction to President Muhammadu Buhari’s controversial speech on Tuesday evening. The President has faced criticisms for referencing the 1967 Civil war in his speech. He stated;
“I receive daily security reports on the attacks on critical national infrastructure, and it is very clear that those behind them want this administration to fail. Whoever wants the destruction of the system will soon have the shock of their lives. We’ve given them enough time.”
“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand,”.
However, in response to the statement, Kanu in a tweet on Wednesday, threatened Governor Nasir El-rufai, Presidential spokesmen, Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu, that no soldier deployed to the South-East region will return alive.
