BREAKING: APC appoints Cross River governor as national council chair for Imo guber

Bassey Edet Otu, the Governor of Cross River State, has been appointed to lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) 225-member National Campaign Council for the forthcoming Imo Governorship election scheduled for November 11th.

The inauguration of this high-profile campaign council is set to take place on Saturday, September 16th, at the prestigious Landmark Event Centre in Owerri.

According to the ruling party’s publicity department, the event is scheduled to commence at 11 a.m.

Party officials say the appointment of Governor Otu reflects the confidence and trust placed in him to spearhead the APC campaign efforts for the Imo State Governorship election.

”The choice of such a prominent figure demonstrates the significance of this election and the party’s determination to secure victory,” one of the officials said.

The council co-chairs are Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, Minister of Science and Technology Uche Nnaji and the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Hon Nkiru Onyeajocha.

Other prominent names on the list are the former governor of Abia, Orji Uzor-Kalu; the Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps, Hon Ben Kalu; former governor of Imo, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and the ministers of women affairs and trade and investment; Uju Kennedy and Doris Uzoka.
