President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is reportedly looking towards a former Kano governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as a replacement for erstwhile national chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
As a result of this, Ganduaje’s name has reportedly been dropped from Tinubu’s list of ministerial nominees.
Adamu resigned from his position on Sunday night.
Politics Nigeria reports that there has been a cold war between Tinubu and Adamu since the former governor of Nasarawa state was elected party chairman in March 2022.
He submitted his resignation letter to Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff to the president.
The APC chairman was reportedly advised to throw in the towel by Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo state and chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.
Recall that while Tinubu supported Tanko Al-Makura, also a former governor of Nasarawa state, for the position of national chairman, party leaders loyal to former President Muhammadu Buhari rooted for Adamu.
