The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied allegations by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, that the party is planning to intimidate judges sitting on the petition challenging the outcome of the February 25 presidential election.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the APC in a statement on Saturday, said that Atiku’s allegations were “arrant nonsense” and “totally lacking in substance and cogency.”
The party said that it has full faith and confidence in the Nigerian judiciary to dispense electoral justice in accordance with the constitution and all applicable laws.
Atiku had earlier accused the APC of having a history of intimidating the judiciary, citing the removal of former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, in 2019.
He also said that the APC has accused about 10 judges of corruption and stormed their homes in an attempt to intimidate them.
The APC denied all of these allegations, saying that they were “wild, hollow, and mischievous.”
The party said that Atiku’s allegations were “just a childish attempt to float an alibi to deflect the shame of a highly probable defeat in court.”
The APC said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party won the election convincingly and that they have “full faith and confidence in our courts to dispense electoral justice.”

PRESS STATEMENT
APC TO ATIKU ABUBAKAR – NO PLOT TO UNDERMINE JUDICIARY
Our attention has been drawn to a Press Statement by a media aide to Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The statement alleges that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its government are engaged in a plot to intimidate members of the judiciary towards unduly influencing the outcome of pending cases before the court. Atiku Abubakar and his minions offered no evidence to support their wild, hollow, and mischievous allegations.
Quite frankly, there is nothing in Atiku Abubakar’s statement, that is worth a reaction from the APC. It is just arrant nonsense, totally lacking in substance and cogency. Its only imaginable purpose is a childish attempt to float an alibi to deflect the shame of a highly probable defeat in court, having miserably failed to make out a credible case to justify his bogus claim that he won the last Presidential Election.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our Party won the election convincingly. We have full faith and confidence in our courts to dispense electoral justice in accordance with our Constitution and all applicable laws.

Barr. Felix Morka
