The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its planned reception for Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba, following the killing and abduction of citizens in recent terror attacks.
The event, earlier fixed for Wednesday, was put on hold in honour of members of the armed forces and civilians killed in recent incidents.
The party said the decision also reflects respect for victims of abductions, including students taken during the attack on a secondary school in Kebbi state.
Felix Morka, APC spokesman, said the party “salutes the courage and sacrifices of our men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line in defence of our liberty and security”.
Morka said the APC mourns the victims of recent attacks and prays for the safe return of abducted students.
The spokesperson said the party “commiserates deeply with families of victims of these incidents”.
He added that the administration of President Bola Tinubu remains committed to ending insurgency and banditry across the country.
