The Action People’s Party (APP) has withdrawn its legal challenge against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, in the ongoing proceedings disputing his victory at the polls.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that this development was made known by the party’s counsel, Obed Agu, during the proceedings that took place on Wednesday.
The presiding judge of the Presidential Election Petition Court, Justice Tsammani, dismissed the case in a brief ruling following the APP’s withdrawal of its petition.
The reasons for the party’s decision to withdraw the case were not made public.
Tinubu, who contested under the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner of the February presidential election with 8,794,726 votes.
The outcome of the election was challenged by several opposition parties, including the APP.
