There is palpable tension around the APC secretariat in Abuja as several armed police officers took over the building on Monday morning.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that this was part of efforts to stave off violent protests against the caretaker leadership of the party. It can be recalled that the Party has been embroiled in a serious crisis over the leadership of the caretaker committee as several have called for the removal of the chairman, Mai-Mala Buni.
About five hilux vans have been strategically positioned along the Blantyre Street of the secretariat which was recently rechristened “Buhari House”.
The controversy that has trailed the validity of the Gov Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC of the party is set to metamorphose into violent protests, hence the need to take adequate security measures.
