BREAKING: Army kill scores of bandits terrorising Abuja-Kaduna Road

Special Forces of the Nigerian Army have killed dozens of bandits in Kaduna forests, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

The onslaught on the bandits followed their nefarious activities on the ever-busy Abuja-Kaduna highway, which has constituted a serious security threat.

It would be recalled that the leader of the bandits who led last Sunday’s attack that claimed the life of Sagir Hamidu, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Zamfara State, identified as Yellow Baba Arusa, was killed earlier this week.

The leader of the bandits who killed a former Director of the FCT and abducted his police orderly and many others during last Sunday’s attack on the highway was reportedly killed during a fierce battle between the Special Forces and the bandits.

Meanwhile, there was no report of kidnap incidence along the highway within the last 24 hours, even as combat-ready security agents were seen on motorbikes and other vehicles, heading to the forests in search of more bandits.

On Thursday, Buhari ordered security agencies to intensify surveillance and patrol activities along the Abuja-Kaduna Road.

Authorities maintained that the Police is the lead agency on internal security. Therefore, maintenance of law and order will start with the police and then extend to all the other security agencies.
