Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday attended a stakeholders’ meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Abuja.
Atiku confirmed the development via a post on X.
“I am currently at the stakeholders meeting of the Coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja. It’s a meeting of the Nigerian people against the oligarchs who promote poverty and insecurity in the land,” he wrote.
Recall that opposition figures, including Atiku, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, ex-Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi jointly adopted the ADC as their new political platform, in July.
Following the formation of the coalition, David Mark was appointed interim national chairman of the party, while former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola emerged as interim national secretary.
Atiku is expected to seek the party’s presidential ticket in 2027.
