Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has mourned the death of the former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Osuolale Richard Akinjide (SAN).
POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that the legal luminary died in the early hours of Tuesday in his home in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria has been sick for about three years before his death.
It was gathered that the remains of the 88-year old Peoples Democratic (PDP) chieftain has been deposited at a morgue.
Reacting to the death of the legal icon via his Twitter page on Tuesday, Atiku commiserated with the family of the former minister over the death of the PDP chieftain.
According to the former PDP presidential candidate, Akinjide lived an impactful life as a lawyer, politician, administrator and most of all, a family patriarch.
He wrote: “May the soul of Chief Richard Akinjide Rest In Peace. He lived an impactful life as a lawyer, politician, administrator and most of all, a family patriarch. On behalf of my family, I express my condolences to the Akinjide’s family.”
