Gulu Community under Lapai local government of Niger State has been attacked by bandits.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the attack occurred on Monday night.
During the attack, the terrorists reportedly slaughtered a man who works with Gulu general hospital. Many people were also abducted.
A source, Abu Qudama, narrated on Tuesday morning: “I just woke up to a call that yesternight Gulu Community under Lapai local government of Niger State has been attacked by bandits.
“In the process of this ungodly act, a man who is a staff of Gulu general hospital was slaughtered and many others were kidnapped by the bandits. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajeun.
“How on earth will people be so heartless to the extent that a human being will be slaughtered like an animal?
“This is one of the most devastating and heartbreaking news that confront me this month.
“However, in a bid to seek their safety, people from the Gulu community have since yesternight been migrating to neighboring villages and the Lapai metropolis.
“On this note: I call on the government officials and security agencies to take a bold step to avoid further penetration of the outlaws.”
The spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, was yet to reply to an SMS about the attack.
