The member representing Okpokwu State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Agom Anthony, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmaker confirmed his defection in a letter personally signed and addressed to the Speaker of the House.

He said the decision came after “wide consultations” with political stakeholders and constituents.

According to him, joining the APC became necessary to ensure better representation and contribute more meaningfully to the growth and development of his constituency.

Hon. Agom also expressed confidence in the leadership and developmental vision of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, describing the governor’s agenda as people-focused and progressive.

He said his alignment with the APC would help promote unity, peace, and progress across the state.
