Boko Haram terrorists from the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād faction have abducted several farmers in Bama Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno state.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the harvesters who are mostly Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), were abducted in the early hours of Wednesday while cultivating crops on their farmlands which is behind Government Girls Secondary School, Bama.
This newspaper learned that the terrorists with weapons stormed residents’ farms, held some people hostage and whisked others to unknown locations.
Luckily, some farmers escaped the attack.
This latest abduction is coming after the terrorists kidnapped two women in Mairari village in Konduga LGA of Borno State on June 7.
Last month (May), the assailants slaughtered over 40 farmers.
In a bid to stem the tide of insurgency in northern Nigeria, authorities have advised residents to report any suspicious activities to the nearest security outfit.
