Terrorists of Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), a splinter of Boko Haram, on Wednesday sneaked into the town of Gaidam in Yobe state, and burnt down Technical Secondary School.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Gaidam has not recorded any breach insecurity in the last one year.
To avoid confrontation with troops of Operation Hadin Kai, the insurgents reportedly hid their motorcycles and walked into the town by foot, razed the school and immediately fled. The troops were coming through Garin Banza.
It is understood that ISWAP never wanted any confrontation with the troops of Lieutenant Colonel Mikah, popularly known as ‘The White Lion’.
Boko Haram is responsible for numerous attacks in the northern and northeastern regions of Nigeria, as well as in the Lake Chad Basin in Cameroon, Chad and Niger that have killed thousands of people since 2009.
