Ajayi rejects Akeredolu’s planned tuition fees reduction in Tertiary institutions

The governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Hon Agboola Ajayi has kicked against the plan by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to reduce tuition fees in tertiary institutions in the state.

In a statement on Saturday through his Media Aide, Allen Sowore, the deputy governor described the action as an afterthought and a Greek gift from governor ahead of the governorship election in the state.

He urged residents of the state to reject the planned reduction as many students have dropped out of school over hiked tuition fees. Ajayi noted that one of the reasons he fell out with the governor was the hike in tuition fees because it was done without consideration of the income of parents.

The statement read in parts: “The good people of Ondo State should be wary of this proposed change of heart, as it does not in any way represent genuine love for the masses.

“It’ is a manipulative Greek gift and decoy solely intended to swindle the people of their votes (that is, their power) in the forthcoming governorship election in the state,” Agboola said.

Ajayi noted that Akeredolu, the APC candidate, was afraid of losing the October 10 governorship election and his re-election.
