President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met with Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the meeting which took place at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, was convened towards reaching a consensus ahead of the National Convention of the party on Saturday.
There had been signs of discords among party stakeholders over the choice of personalities purportedly endorsed by President Buhari.
On Saturday March 26, 2022 all eyes would be at the Eagle Square venue of the ruling APC national convention. Some political analysts say it would mark a turning point in the leadership challenge that bedeviled the party for which the governor of Yobe State, Malam Mai Mala Buni was recruited by the party’s major stakeholders to stabilize.
They also posit that a successful conduct of the national convention would mark the crowning glory of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), led by Governor Buni.
