President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to embark on an eight-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, starting from Tuesday.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the trip, which includes performing the Lesser Hajj Pilgrimage, also known as the Umrah, is said to be the President’s final journey to the Kingdom while in office.
In a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, on Monday, the President will be accompanied by his aides on the journey.
The statement further confirmed that President Buhari would perform the Umrah rites during his visit, which is a significant Islamic practice.
The statement partly reads: “President Muhammadu Buhari will travel to Saudi Arabia on official visit from Tuesday, April 11th to 19th on his last trip to the Kingdom as President, during which he will perform Umrah, the Lesser Pilgrimage.”
