The Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on count-1 of the terrorism charge the Federal Government preferred against him.

Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment earlier today, ruling that the prosecution had successfully established essential elements of the offences brought against Kanu under the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act.

In a packed courtroom, Justice Omotosho held that evidence presented by the Federal Government, including intelligence reports, witness testimonies, and recorded broadcasts proved that Kanu engaged in acts that constituted a threat to national security and public safety.

According to the judge, several of Kanu’s directives and public statements “directly encouraged violent attacks,” while operational activities linked to IPOB’s armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), were “undeniably connected to the defendant’s influence and instructions.”

“All the ingredients of the offences have been made out by the prosecution,” Justice Omotosho said. “The defendant cannot distance himself from the consequences of the actions carried out under his command and authority.”

    1. People like you are the ones that led kanu astray by supporting his nonsense. Now he should be remorse and let ndigbo begin o seek for presidential pardon for him you guys have started gingering him again. Which evidence will he provide at appeal knowing fully well that ou can’t do so on appeal.

  1. Nnamdi kanu should reverse himself from his violence prone, anti state activities..to enable a political solution to his situation.Lives are being wasted, through him and no Government will free him to go continue to waste lives. He cannot intimidate the court or Government. Those saying that Tinubu should simply order the release of kanu should explain his unruly behaviour in court today and why he should be allowed to continue to disrupt public peace.
