The founder of I Reign Christian Ministry, Oluwafeyiropo Daniel, aka Bishop Feyi, has been convicted of raping his assistant pastor.
Bishop Feyi was on Friday found guilty by an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court presided over by Justice Rahman Oshodi.
The Court had reserved judgment on January 11 after the conclusion of the hearing of the allegations against the Bishop.
The charges include the rape of his assistant pastor and another individual and the attempted rape of a third person, all allegedly occurring in June 2020 at Ikota Villa Estate, Lekki, Lagos.
The prosecution cites violations of Sections 260 (2), 262, and 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Despite pleading not guilty to the amended four-count charge, including rape, sexual assault, and attempted rape, the defense, represented by Mr. Fola Awonusi, argued for the defendant’s discharge and acquittal on January 11.
The lawyer said documents showed malice and financial gains on the part of the alleged survivors.
