A Federal High Court has dismissed a suit filed by the North Central APC Forum seeking Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’s removal as APC national chairman.
Justice Inyang Ekwo dismissed the suit, citing the plaintiff’s lack of locus standi and failure to register with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
Ganduje’s appointment, Ekwo ruled, could only be challenged through a national convention.
The judge also cited the plaintiff’s failure to provide credible evidence of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). He ruled that the North Central APC Forum’s name is unknown to the law and lacks juristic personality, rendering it ineligible to challenge the APC’s internal affairs.
The plaintiff had argued that Ganduje’s appointment breached the party’s constitution, as he is from Kano State (North West) and not the North Central geo-political zone.
The group’s lawyer, Ayuba Abdul, and leader, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, vowed to appeal the judgment.
