The Court of Appeal is set to deliver its judgment on the Kaduna Governorship Election petition tomorrow, Friday, 24th November 2023.
The petition, filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the 2023 election, Isah Ashiru, challenges the victory of Uba Sani, the incumbent governor of Kaduna State.
In September, the Kaduna State Governorship Election Tribunal dismissed the petition, ruling that the pre-hearing notice was filed out of time. The PDP and its candidate had challenged the declaration of Sani, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the March 18 governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared that Sani secured 730, 001 votes to defeat his closest rival Ashiru of the PDP, who scored 719, 196 votes.
