BREAKING: Documents in Ganduje corruption trial stolen during hunger protests – Kano govt

The Kano State government has revealed that critical documents have been stolen following an invasion of the State High Court during the recent #EndbadgovernanceinNigeria protest.

According to the state authorities, the documents are related to the ongoing corruption trial of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The Kano government had previously initiated legal proceedings against Ganduje, his wife Hafsat, their son Umar Abdullahi, and five other individuals, charging them with eight counts of misappropriation and diversion of funds during Ganduje’s eight-year tenure as governor.

The protest, which was part of the larger #EndbadgovernanceinNigeria movement, reportedly turned violent when demonstrators stormed the State High Court.

In the chaos that ensued, several important documents linked to the high-profile corruption case were allegedly taken by the protesters.

The state government has expressed deep concern over the incident and is reportedly taking steps to recover the missing documents and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
