Yusuf Bichi, the Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), is reportedly preparing to tender his resignation to President Bola Tinubu on Monday.
According to Daily Nigerian, Bichi returned to the office this afternoon and informed his close aides of his decision.
Sources indicate that President Tinubu may choose a replacement from among the serving assistant directors within the agency.
Bichi was initially appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari on September 14, 2018, succeeding Matthew Seiyefa, who had served in an acting capacity.
This development follows the resignation of Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), who stepped down from his position on Saturday.
