Former Deputy CBN Governor, Obadiah Mailafia has been released by the Department of State Security, DSS following an invitation that was extended to him on Monday.
This is the third in the last month that Mailafia was being invited to the DSS office in Jos, following an interview he granted to a radio station where he accused a serving Northern governor of being the leader of Boko Haram.
Mailafia arrived at the DSS office around 11 am together with his wife , Margaret , and his lawyer , Yakubu Bawa, among others including several clergymen. He was not released until around 2:57 pm .
Speaking after his release, Mailafia hailed the protesters for standing by him. He added that the killings in Southern Kaduna and other parts of the country must stop.
“Thank you all for being here . Many have said the worst things and nobody invited them.I hope this will be the last time I will be invited to the DSS office . All that I am saying is that the killings must stop.”
