A co-convener of the #RevolutionNow protest, Olawale Bakare has been released by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Sunday.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Bakare popularly known as Mandate was arrested by the security agency on Wednesday in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
He had led members of the group to stage a protest against poor governance, lack of infrastructure, extra-judicial activities, among others in the country. Bakare led the protest to the popular Olaiya junction in Osogbo on Wednesday, August 5.
During the maiden edition of the protest on August 5, 2019, he was also arrested by the DSS and kept in detention until December when he was released on bail. He is currently standing trial alongside popular activist, Omoyele Sowore, for demanding improved welfare, security among others.
