Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has issued an order to freeze all state accounts held in various banks, effective Tuesday, May 30.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the directive was conveyed through a statement signed by the newly appointed Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor.
Dr. Uzor emphasised that Governor Nwifuru has explicitly instructed all bank managers handling government accounts in the state to adhere to the order promptly.
As a result, he said no payments or transactions should be processed from any government accounts until further notice.
