The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has affirmed the agency’s commitment to prosecute former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to the fullest extent of the law.
Speaking to journalists at the EFCC Headquarters on Tuesday, Olukoyede pledged that the EFCC would ensure that all those who obstructed Bello’s arrest would face consequences.
Despite facing opposition and attacks against the EFCC, Olukoyede asserted that he and his team would persist in their efforts to cleanse the country of corruption.
He said that no matter what anyone does or the number of attacks against the anti-graft agency, he and his men will not relent in helping to sanitise the country.
Olukoyede said the EFCC needs the support of Nigerians to succeed, and he emphasised that if the agency fails, Nigeria fails.
He stated that the efforts have helped Naira’s value and the foreign market.
