The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday interrogated Aminu Tambuwal, immediate past Governor of Sokoto State and known ally of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, at its corporate headquarters in Abuja.
Tambuwal arrived at the EFCC around 11:30 a.m. amid allegations of fraudulent cash withdrawals totalling ₦189 billion.
The anti-graft agency is investigating the transactions for violations of the Money Laundering (Prevention & Prohibition) Act, 2022.
Tambuwal was Governor of Sokoto State from 2015 to 2023.
