Tensions escalated during a protest as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly discharged live bullets at supporters of Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State.
The incident, according to Daily Independent, occured during the demonstration by pro-Yahaya Bello supporters.
According to the report, the protest took a violent turn when EFCC operatives intervened, attempting to disperse the crowd forcefully.
The use of live ammunition reportedly sparked fear and chaos among the protesters, heightening the intensity of the situation.
Earlier in the day, a separate group of demonstrators supporting the EFCC had staged their protest near the Anti-Graft office headquarters without any reported intervention from security personnel.
