The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released all Obafemi Awolowo University students arrested during a midnight raid on the school’s hostels early Wednesday morning.
Politics Nigeria reports that no fewer that 69 students were arrested when EFCC operatives stormed some hostels in Oduduwa Estate close to the school campus in Ile Ife, Osun State.
The arrests generated into a protest at the Ibadan zonal command of the EFCC office in Oyo State.
Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, also promised to intervene in the matter.
But as at Wednesday night, 45 of the students had been released by the anti-corruption body.
“As we speak, 69 of the arrested OAU students have been released; they are still investigating the rest of them,” a source announced.
