The House of Representatives is set to report Justice Evelyn Anyadike to the National judicial Council for empowering the Attorney-General of the Federation to delete section 84(12) of the signed electoral act.
Several members of the house attacked and criticised the judge over the order during a session on Wednesday.
Anyadike made headlines after she granted the controversial order that has created rancour in the lower chambers. She will be reported to the National Judicial Council for nullifying the provisions of Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act 2022.
Last week, POLITICS NIGERIA reported last week that Anyadike, in a Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia state ordered the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, to without delay, delete Section 84 (12) of the amended Electoral Act.
Section 84 (12) says: “No political appointee at any level shall be voting delegate or be voted for at the Convention or Congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election”.
The house resolved to appeal the judgement and have it upturned.
