BREAKING: Embattled Ibom Air Passenger Breaks Silence, Confirms Release From Custody

Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger at the centre of an alleged unruly conduct case, has broken her silence after regaining freedom from custody.

Posting on her Instagram handle @soft_commy, Emmanson thanked supporters for their prayers and concern.

She also confirmed her release from Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

Emmanson said she remained in pain over her treatment and would share her full account after rest and medical care.

Her release followed a ruling by the Ikeja Magistrate Court, Ogba, on Wednesday, which struck out the five-count charge against her. Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami dismissed the case after the police applied for its withdrawal.

The move came after a resolution led by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), who cited consultations with aviation stakeholders, public appeals, and the remorse shown by parties involved. Ibom Air also formally withdrew its complaint as part of the settlement.

Emmanson was initially arraigned on Monday over the August 10 in-flight incident, granted ₦500,000 bail with two sureties, and remanded pending fulfilment of the conditions.

  20. She don turn celebrity with supporters….next nah invitation to podcasts and even sponsorship and ambassador deals. And what made her “famous” ? That she was unruly in a flight and left home without wearing bra. Please who did this to black man??

  21. My advice goes to the Airline operator (Ibom Air). Caution your workers to treat your customers like Kings and queens, without them (passengers) there’s nowhere the company will generate money to pay them salaries. The Crew lady should personally call that lady and apologize to her. Passenger Emma, control your temper next time, sorry for the ill treatment.

  22. It’s because Nigeria is a dumb country, is a reason you came out and have the gut to still speak trash. If it were other countries who uphold justice you could pe prosecuted for endangering lives onboard and the plane safety.

  23. We continue to act in the arbitrary way that has kept this country where we are. From passengers who refused to obey the cabin crew, to the airline and airport security staff who act in not so professional manner, to the Minister’s intervention possibly without all the facts available.
Also brought to relief is clear evidence of three possibilities ( no formal procedure for dealing with all aspects of flight operations, or operatives are ignorant of them/deliberately don’t follow them or that law is meant to be obeyed by some and not others).
It is becoming common for people in authority to issue directives to public institutions, to act in ways that may not be procedural.
    Maybe, Oshiomole style is booting.
