Sporadic gunshots have been reported in Esut Agbani, Nkanu West Local Government Area (LGA) of Enugu State, southeast Nigeria.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that some unknown gunmen were sighted enforcing a sit-at-home order the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) insists it has called off since last year (2021).
Sources close to the area said the heavy gunshots which started at about 9:00 am on Monday continued till the time of publishing this report.
There were also reports of disruptions of vehicular movement at Topland, Amechi Road, NOWAS, IMT and Shoprite area, as well as Enugu South LGA of Enugu State due to sporadic gunshots.
Gunshots were also heard around Ogbete, Naira Triangle and Thinkers Corner.
As of the time of this report, men of the Nigerian Army are confronting the hoodlums.
Efforts by this reporter to reach Nigerian Army spokesperson, Brigadier-General Onyema Nwachukwu, failed.

Please government should drastic action on this case otherwise, if things continue to happen like this without proper investigation, Nigeria will not be ok.
Nothing of such happened in Enugu. Must have been firecrackers thrown by little children in continuation of the New Year celebrations
I live in Enugu and I didn’t hear of any shooting. Enugu , the Coal City has always been relatively peaceful unlike some rural area where rampaging herders wreak havoc and kill people.
