Police reacts as hoodlums attack Obi supporters in Lagos

The Lagos Police Command on Saturday said it has “commenced preliminary investigations” into the attack on members of the Obidient Movement by some hoodlums in the state.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known via his verified Twitter page while reacting to the incident.

Hundeyin described the attack as “reprehensible” while assuring the public that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, “will take over investigations towards apprehending and prosecuting the attackers”.

His tweet reads: “Jakande Ward Chairman of Labour Party commendably reported an attack on his party members at Ilasan Division.

“Four injured persons have been given medical attention. DPO Ilasan has commenced preliminary investigations while SCID is to fully take over investigations.

“The injured and other witnesses are assisting the Police with relevant information that would aid the apprehension and prosecution of the attackers.

“This attack is reprehensible! It is verifiable that the Command had stationed, since yesterday, patrol vehicles and officers at the Tafawa Balewa Square venue of today’s rally. We had already secured the venue to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

“The regrettable attack happened at about 15km away from the rally venue. As earlier stated, the SCID will take over investigations towards apprehending and prosecuting the attackers.”

  1. Bola Tinubu tugs are at work, I thought they said that Labour party does not have structure, why attacking them?
The out come of the presidential election will shock you guys

  2. This is getting uncivilized.Your right to support a particular campaign ends with where other people’s rights begin. We should say no to hate.

  3. Tinubu’s thugs situated along the Lekki Peninsula are some of the deadliest in the state. Armed to the teeth, they have often held residents to ransom. We all remember #EndSarsNow, don’t we? Who really dunnit then?
Since the commencement of political campaigns, they have been threatening the residents of the area with fire and brimstone if their Fada fails to become the next president of Nigeria. They also made promises about how business houses will be razed to the ground. The Police should do a research and stop sitting on their hands. The threats are becoming heightened, as we draw closer to the elections.
Over the decades since the demise of Old Maroko, the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police had looked on as those thugs spawned and grew stronger and bolder.

Before they became Boko Haram, they were the political thugs created by the APC’s vice presidential candidate, Shettima, to enforce his will over the people of Borno State where he was once governor. Tinubu’s are just one step away from becoming a permanent threat to the peace of the country. I hope that the world, particularly the nations of the West, are watching. They know who these thugs’ Fada is and the desperation behind his drive. They say the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

    1. Thank you so much for this information. I hope the world read this as God won’t allow tinibulation to happen in Nigeria

  4. THE POLICE SHOULD RELEASE AND WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT THE PRELIMINARY REPORT OR WHATEVER REPORT THEY HAVE FOR THE ATTACK ON Tinubu CONVOY ON ITS WAY TO THE PALACE OF THE Oba OF LAGOS. AFTER HE WON AND EARNED THE CANDIDACY OF HIS PARTY AT THE PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES OF THE APC.

The natural vandals terrorists cannibals biafraudulent biafraud elements of the SE unleashed the mayhem that injured the news crew in the convoy.

WHEN DO WE HEAR AND OR READ ABOUT POLICE REPORT OF SUCH LAWLESS ATTACK AT THE DOORSTEP OF A Yoruba Oba IN THE HEART OF LAGOS?
