Former governor of Ondo State, Evangelist Bamidele Isola Olumilua has died at the age of 80. Olumiluwa was the governor of the Southwest state from January 1992 to November 1993.
It was gathered that the octogenarian died on Thursday morning after a brief illness at his country home in Ikere Ekiti. He died two months after his 80th birthday.
The body of the former governor has been moved to the morgue of Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
His son, Muyiwa Olumilua, who is the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, confirmed his father’s demise to reporters on Thursday.
The commissioner said, “Baba died today (Thursday) around 3 am. We thank God that he lived a good and worthy life and we are proud of his personality and achievements while alive.
“Burial arrangements will be announced later.”
