The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Tuesday morning sealed off the Federal Ministry of Works, Mabushi, Abuja.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that armed security officers consisting of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), among others, were present to ensure enforcement of the closure.
It was gathered that the Ministry as well as other Departments and Agencies affected owed huge sum of money. Specifically, the Federal Ministry of Works is owing N9,998,625.00.
The FCTA administers the FCT. Several agencies are funded by the FCTA, including the Abuja Environmental Protection Board, concerned with waste collection and disposal and other environmental matters; the Abuja Geographical Information System, which provides a geo-spatial data infrastructure and a one stop for all land matters for the FCT, used to facilitate land acquisition and collect all land related revenue for the FCT; the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) for various municipal services; the Federal Capital Development Authority; and others.
