A portion of the Asokoro District Hospital has been engulfed by fire, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.
The fire which razed down the Institute of Human Virology laboratory also destroyed sensitive medical equipments.
The Public Relations of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Abraham Paul while confirming the incident said the service deployed fire fighters from the two stations to the scene.
He added that the service has commenced investigation into cause of inferno.
Media reports showed that between 2019 and 2021, Nigeria experienced severe fire incidents, leading to 79 deaths out of 68 fires recorded in 18 months.
Also, statistics from the Federal Fire Service indicates that between 2020 and 2021, a total of 4,541 calls were made to the agency nationwide and 378 rescue emergencies were recorded.
