Akintola Williams, the doyen of the accounting profession in Nigeria, has died at the age of 104.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that he was the first Nigerian to qualify as a chartered accountant.
Williams was born in Lagos in 1919. He attended the CMS Grammar School in Lagos and the University of London, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1952.
