Former APC Vice Chairman, Abdulkadir is dead

Information reaching POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the immediate past National Vice Chairman (North-West), of the All Progressives Congress, Inuwa Abdulkadir, is dead.

It was learned that the APC chieftain died on Monday morning at Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, after a brief illness. Abdulkadir died at the age of 54.

Abdulkadir’s death is coming weeks after the demise of the former governor of Oyo state and the immediate past National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the party, Abiola Ajimobi.

Confirming his death, the immediate past National Vice Chairman (North) of the APC, Senator Lawal Shuaibu, said his colleague died in the early hours of Monday, July 6, and will be buried according to Muslim burial rites.

He, however, revealed that an official statement will be released by the family of the deceased very soon.

Abdulkadir was a member of APC’s National Working Committee that was recently dissolved by the party’s NEC. He served as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Sokoto State before he was appointed as Minister of Youths and Sports under the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

The late Abdulkadir held the traditional title of Magatakarda Babba, (Chief Scribe) of the Sokoto Sultanate. He was the former Company Secretary of the state-owned Sokoto Newspaper Company, publishers of The Path Newspaper.

Until his death, Abdulkadir was the chairman Governing Council of the Sokoto State University.
