The immediate past Governor of the Central Bank, Mr Godwin Emefiele, has been granted bail in the sum of N300 million and two sureties in like sum.
This was granted on Wednesday by Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Abuja.
The sureties must possess certificates of occupancy and titles of properties within the Maitama District, a highbrow area in Abuja.
As part of the bail conditions, Emefiele is mandated to surrender all his travel documents to the registrar of the court and must remain within the Abuja Municipal Council.
This latest bail grant comes four months after the Federal High Court Sitting in Lagos granted him bail in the sum of N20 million.
Emefiele is currently facing charges of financial impropriety and corruption. The charges stem from his time as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
