POLITICS NIGERIA has gathered that Rabiu Musa, the former Chief Press Secretary to late President Umaru Yar’adua, is dead.
It was learned that Musa, aged 60, died around 3a.m. on Saturday at the National Orthopedic Hospital in Kano following a brief illness.
The media expert was the media aide to Yar’adua when he was the governor of Katsina State and was the Head of Communication at UNICEF’s office in Kano before his death.
Confirming the news, one of the sons of the deceased, Musa Rabiu, said his late father complained of sore throat and malaria, but after a few days of medication, he was better.
Musa added that his father also complained about the difficulty in breathing especially when he is tired.
According to the son, his father died while awaiting a coronavirus test result because he had shown symptoms of the disease.
This newspaper reports that cases of Coronavirus and strange deaths have been on the increase in Kano state in the last two weeks. The state is only behind Lagos in the number of cases confirmed across the country.
