A former minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha-Jummai Alhassan, has died at the age of 61, POLITICS NIGERIA has learned.
This was announced by here media aide, Suleiman Dantsoho. It was gathered that she died in Cairo, Egypt on Friday afternoon.
The political juggernaut popularly known as ‘Mama Taraba’ was born on September 16, 1959 in Jalingo, Taraba State.
Suleiman Dantsoho, her former media aide, confirmed the death to DAILY NIGERIAN, saying she died at a Cairo hospital on Friday afternoon. She is a former minister appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to represent Taraba State after losing the 2015 governorship election to the incumbent Darius Ishaku.
Before here death, She was a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
