BREAKING: Former Nigerian league player dies in auto-crash [PHOTO]

Chuba Shedrack, a former player of Katsina United and Platuea United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has died, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

Shedrack passed on in the early hours of Sunday after being involved in an auto crash.

Reacting, the club president of Abuja-based Mahanaim FC, Simon Alfred; and its board of directors, expressed their deepest regret at the passing of Shedrack, who was its Sports Director. The deceased had joined them in 2018.

“The club wishes to convey its condolence to his wife, children as well as family and friends.

“Chuba was pivotal to the club formation as well as growth and development of our players. It therefore saddens the heart of everyone at our club, as we are grieving,” Mahanaim’s statement reads.

Similarly, another Nigerian club, Sanbell FC, condoled the Chuba family.

The club’s Directors sent condolences to the family of Shedrack, who was also a football agent.

In a statement by the Club Secretary, Abubakar Baban-fadila, Sanbell FC said late Chuba lived a life of impact.

“We received the news of his demise with shock but we are consoled by the fact that he lived a life of dedicated service to God and humanity,” the club’s statement reads in part.
