Former Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) Group Managing Director, Dr. Thomas Maurice Asuquo John, has passed away at the age of 84
Dr. John, a veteran in the sector, served as the 5th Group Managing Director of NNPC, leaving an indelible mark during his tenure from April 1990 to June 1992.
A quintessential leader and seasoned professional in the oil & gas domain, Dr. John’s contribution extended far beyond his time at NNPC.
His impactful presence was felt as a Non-Executive Director at South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO), where his guidance was invaluable. Additionally, he served as the Executive Chairman of Hydropec Engineering Services Ltd..
He previously held a significant role as a Non-Executive Director at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc., among other prestigious positions.
In a statement, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., Olufemi O. Soneye, conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the entire NNPC Management and Staff to Dr. John’s family, friends, and associates.
