Former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi is dead.
The 70-year-old has been in a coma and on life support for some days after surgery but passed away at the First Cardiology Hospital, Ikoyi on Thursday.
A credible source said Ajimobi, who was being treated for COVID-19 complications was completely unconscious since last Thursday after his organs failed.
His family is expected to make a formal announcement on Thursday evening.
“His organs collapsed about a week ago. It is just that the family didn’t want to unplug the life support. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
He was the factional acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC before his demise.
