BREAKING: Former President Buhari Rates Tinubu’s Performance at Midterm, Gives Advice

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership as the government marks two years in office.

The former president has also called for patience and national support for ongoing reforms.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday, Buhari praised Tinubu’s midterm performance and offered words of caution to the present government.

Recall that Buhari handed over power to his fellow partyman in 2023.

“Former President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his mid-term, saying that as the party and the government celebrate, the country should be reminded that leadership is a continuous journey,” the statement read.

Buhari called for “steadfast support” for the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, urging Nigerians to understand that meaningful reforms take time to bear fruit.

“Reforms would achieve success gradually, not overnight,” he said, warning that needed changes “must not fall victim to nettlesome domestic politics.”

“The task of reducing poverty and inflation, which is immense, must not be left only for the government,” he stated.
“The private sector and all of us as citizens must join in all ways we can.”

“Our expectations from our governments should not get heavy,” President Buhari said in the conclusion of his message.

“I am wishing President Tinubu heartfelt congratulations on his two years in office. May you keep leading with wisdom and care.”
